HR - FAQs

Who is BK Behavior Ventures?
BK Behavior Ventures is the corporate management entity for our local ABA company.

Pay day occurs on the 1st and 15th of every month. When pay day falls on a Saturday or Sunday, you will be paid on the following business day. If there is a holiday that falls on payday, you will be paid on the first day following the holiday. The payroll calendar is linked here.

Upon being fully onboarded, all employees receive an invitation to Empoeon, our payroll system. The invite is sent to their personal email address. If the invitation link sent to you has expired, reach out to HR so they can have another link forwarded to you. Please log on to the Empeon ESS portal to change any personal details under the ‘Profile’ section. The request will then be forwarded to the HR department for approval.

Log onto the Empeon ESS portal to access your pay stubs. All pay stubs can be viewed under the ‘Documents’ section.

Log onto the Empeon ESS portal to access your yearly tax documents, which can be viewed and downloaded under the ‘Documents’ section.

Please update tax information on your Empeon account.

Employees should log onto the Empeon ESS portal and refer to the ‘Profile’ section where they can end-date the current bank account information and input updated bank information, as well as supporting proof of direct deposit. Note that without submitting updated direct deposit information, you will be paid via check. Upon receiving the request, HR will review and approve of the request. If the direct deposit information does not match with the proof of direct deposit, HR will reject the request and will be in touch with you regarding any additional information they need. Having employees update their direct deposit information on their own ensures a secure, and efficient process.

HR will be able to complete an employee verification form for you. Please reach out to HR for assistance with this request.

BK Behavior Ventures adheres to a ‘No Reference Policy.’ We cannot provide personalized reference letters, however, we can provide a letter detailing your dates of employment, position, average hours worked, and pay information with employee authorization. Please reach out to HR to request a letter.

Part time employees accrue sick leave based on attendance. Every 30 hours worked accrue 1 hour of sick leave. HR can view the amount every provider accrues and can provide this information to the employee.  Sick leave may only be provided in the event that the employee did not work on the date of the requested sick leave. The sick leave form needs to be filled out, and can be obtained by reaching out to HR. Additionally, requests submitted for more than 3 consecutive days require a letter from the employees’ health practitioner. As outlined in our policy handbook, sick leave accruals begin in January  and end on the final day of December of every year.

Full time employees accrue PTO.  HR will be able to view the amount every provider accrues.  Every employee requesting PTO needs to fill out the PTO request form and include how many hours of PTO they would like to utilize, as well as indicate the corresponding dates. The form can be obtained by reaching out to HR. PTO accruals begin on the full time status date of the employee and renew every year, on the date the employee transitioned to full time.

An employee may transition to full time, on condition that one of the following are met:
  1. Lookback Period: Prior to the open enrollment period in September, HR reviews the annual hours worked during the previous year for each employee. If an employee has met the required full-time hours during the previous year, they will be offered to transition to full-time status and thus become eligible for benefits.
  2. 120-Day Threshold: Following a new employees’ probationary period, your regional director will inform the HR team if you have met full time hours consistently. HR will then assess this by completing a lookback report, determining the average monthly hours worked only from when you have reached the full time hours to evaluate if you can be considered for full time benefits.
RBTs are required to meet 130 hours or more monthly, to be eligible for continued benefits, and BCBAs are required to meet 66 hours or more monthly. Failure to meet the specified hours on a consistent basis will result in termination of benefits. Benefits include Floating Holidays, and PTO, which includes sick, personal, and vacation days. Other benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, which an employee can choose to waive. Full time employees may also choose to contribute to a 401K retirement plan. Inquiries relating to full time benefits, can be addressed by reaching out to HR.

The referral bonus is rewarded if the provider referred to the company was hired and actively on a case for 60consecutive days. Once both conditions are met, please be in touch with HR so they can send a referral form to be completed. Once the form is submitted, expect to receive the bonus in the following paycheck.

Please refer to the payroll calendar. Make sure that the specific dates you are referring to fall under the correct pay period. If everything seems to be correct, please contact HR for further assistance. If session notes were properly submitted in a timely manner, with no requested adjustments, the session should be fully paid for. Otherwise, HR may involve the Quality Assurance Team to advise as to what needs to be adjusted.
